A PASSION FOR FASHION
In 1972, this work, by Michael Enfield, was exhibited at The Corcoran Gallery Of Art in Washington, DC.; an efforvesent portrait of a fashion model that he had taken in Hakunila, a suburb of Helsinki, Finland, was honorably mentioned. *

He had asked this young local, to model on the shore by The Baltic Sea in some clothing that he had been asked to photograph by Marimekko Oy, the popular textile factory. He was enamored by her alabaster complexion and carrot colored hair. After the take, in the flat where he was staying, he sat the model down on a birch stool in her swim suit and placed a wall mirror on her lap. She balanced it carefully over her forearms so that it wouldn't fall and break. He asked her if she'd like to live in America one day. When she smiled and answered, "yes, of course, who wouldn't?", he took this picture
